Final Blog
I have never been one to really write anything on the internet, not really into the Instagram, Twitter, and definitely not Facebook. however the blogging in College is a good idea because it allow us to connect among different students. Blogs is also a place that may be utilized to ask questions or seek help with a specific topic. Another great use for blogs is to review different products, movies, or Cd's. Blogs has helped throughout my 4 years here at South, and I will probably still look at and read blogs after I graduate next week. They really give you some good information if you find the right ones.

Peer to Peer
We are coming to the end of the semester, and I have learned more about APA style than I ever wished to know. However I understand the reasoning behind APA, and also understand it is just something we have to learn how to do. I learned a lot from my Peer to Peer Learning network, because I actually have a nice size network in which I do actually get information or advice from. I believe it is very important to have a strong Peer to Peer Network when you are attending college and pursuing a degree.

Google Drive
When you have Mr Hamon as your English teacher, you will be using a lot of online tools. The main tool you will be using is Google Drive. Inside Google Drive there is soo many great applications and these applications are free. Everyone loves free! The Goolge Docs app. is actually better than Microsoft Word in my opinion. The first reason is once again because it is free. The second reason is in Google Doc, you can be writing a paper and remotely the whole time the teacher can see in live time what you are writing. Another great aspect of Google Doc is the fact that when you make changes the revisions are always accessible to the student and the teacher. This allows the teacher to see who has provided what parts of the paper, and who is responsible for what work on the paper. This is definitely one of my favorite parts of Mr. Hamon class.

Doc 2 Finished
Finally Doc 2 has come to a finish. I was delighted to finally see the good old essay. I feel like now I can go back and complete the Wiki assignment also. I learned a lot about Langston Hughes and the poems he wrote. I also learned the true history of the Harlem Renaissance. The APA part wasnt that hard, until we got to the references and citations, seems like there are so many correct ways to do APA, but each teacher has their own preference. I had an advantage because I have taken Mr. Hamon's class 3 different times, so I kind of known what to expect. Even though Mr. Hamon is hard on us sometimes, I have noticed that I have become a much better writer since my first year in college and have taken Mr. Hamon class. Well that's all for English 3, and my degree at South University it was fun on to the next chapter.

Do You Fear Death
Some say Im a little different then many, because one fear I have never had is death. I always felt that your day is already chosen for you to die, you never know that day of course. No matter what that is your day to die, you could be just walking out your house, you may just get that old, you may be robbing a bank, you can be doing anything and at the snap of a finger your dead. I have seen so many people die it is sad, from drive by's as I was right by the person at that time, from execution style, car accidents, or just old age. I guess that why I am emotionless to death. I have even faced death a couple times and won. Don't misunderstand I am in no way trying to chase death, but I ill never fear it either

Reverse Class
This is my last semester at South University, so I decided to write about one of the best ideas I got to be a participant of while in school. Mr. Hammon does a reverse class, which means homework and assignments in class and reading and lectures at home. I love it! This was so helpful since I am also a full time worker that works 80 hours a week, along with a full time student. Mr Hammon allow us too still do our job, and logon from home to participate in class. This was so helpful, he also is a click away whenever you need help. The wiki lol that's another subject, although I did get the hang of the Wiki at the end. The reverse classroom should be implemented in other classes, students would really appreciate it I bet.

Myth in my life
I am a strong believer that if you belief you can do it, it will happen. I'm not a strong believer in myths per se. I don't believe that if you walk under a ladder it's bad luck, or break a mirror it's bad luck. I beleive we make our own luck. The poems and stories I have read in the recent weeks are all about mythology; however I really don't have the attention span as we read some of these poems and stories, I guess just not my think. I still need to pass the class so I'm trying and at the same time just going through to motions to finish the classes and obtain my degree

Myths in Poems
Over the weeks we have not only been reading poems in class, but I also have been reading mythology stories in my World Literature class. It seems to me that a lot of if not almost all the poems have some type of myth that is found within the text. The writers seem to really get creative with their word play, or their metaphors. An example is the "to the desert" poem the myth of finding the truth the holy spirit, many people believe in GOD, however many people do not believe in GOD. That is just one example of myths in poetry. I always look at mythology as just another way to creative in your mind and let your thoughts flow freely.

Symbol About Something in A Poem we Read
The symbol in the Weary Blues by Langston Hughes is the piano the musician is playing when Langston walks in the club down on Lennox Ave. The piano not only represents the musical instrument, but also the symbol for the traditional western sound in the world. This poem was written after WW1 the time of oppression for African Americans. The musician is pound the white ivory keys in a release of frustration and an out lash against the times. When the musician plays the blues on the piano he is transforming the western traditional sound to one of the blues and jazz music.

ALMOST DONE !!!
This week we were allowed to pick one subject of our own to write a blog about. I chose to write about it's almost over. Four years passed I m exhausted working full time and school full time was a feat thats all I can say. June 20 I finally walk the stage and get my degree. There have been some good teachers that really got me through this journey. Dr. Sedlack, Mrs. Ramirez an online instructor, and Mr. Hammon, those were my most influential instructors, they was always there for questions and to give me help. There was weeks where I was working 85 a hours a week, and they always understood and gave me a little more time to turn in my assignments. It has been fun but I am so glad this journey is almost over.

My Fiance's Ring
My fiance mom had died and left her a diamond ring. There is nothing in the world that will make her take that ring off. That was the last item her mom ever gave her the day she passed on her death bed. My finance lost her mom at the age of 16. This was also the same time she had a miscarriage and lost a baby. That ring means the world to her. The ring represents her love, her loyalty, her heart, her sadness missing her mom. I guess the ring I gave her will always be second lol, but thats ok. The only thing I tell her jokingly is to remember the price tag that was once on my ring. Im just playing though, actually I'm not.

Critical Perspective
Decided I mines well stay on my topic for my paper and my Wiki, Langston Hughes "The Weary Blues." My critical perspective of which I will also be writing my essay paper about is the different view I took from reading the poem then other readers. Most people think the poem is only about the blues and jazz music; However I feel like Langston was also using his words to also tell about the times of oppression for African Americans after WW2. This is also well known as the Harlem Renaissance. He uses his words as symbolism for the struggles and ties those words into the music of jazz and the blues.

Psychological Criticism Product of Our Enviroment
Pyschological criticism is when a character may be examined based on their upbringing to made reasoning for their actions. An example I can think of is in movies, especially when you watch thrillers. There are those movies where the killer came from a broken home or he was sheltered and never knew the outside world, of which made that character kill someone. Another example of psychological criticism would be one that I can relate to more. The charcters in movies that come from a poverty ridden neighborhood and always lived around drugs and gangs. The character also ends up in the gangs or selling and using drugs. A great phrase that I can interwine with this lesson is we are a product of our enviorment.

To The Desert
The original poem I was gonna make my Wiki on was the "To The Desert" by Benjamin Alire Saenz. The poem is a spiritual gospel poem. A man is lost in the desert but the desert is also a symbol for lost emptiness in his life. Then just as he is ready to give up and feels like there is nothing in life for him, he finds God. He screams out in his spoken language with joy. The man feels like he has a new life and has found a new meaning. There is a lot of symbolism in the poem, and the poem had a strong meaning; however the poem was too new, and there just wasn't enough information to create a Wikipedia because there has not even been a Wikipedia page made for the "To The Desert" poem.

Female Writers
We have been reading some poems and stories lately that are written by woman writers. I am not a big reader of short stories and poems usually. This is actually the first time I ever read anything like the literature I have been reading. I do find that the woman writers tend to touch more emotional tones in their writing. I really couldn't name too many though. I have always felt like a female writer could express through words better than male writer, but I guess that is back to touching the other subject or topic we had to write about this week the Gender Criticism. Well that is all I could come up with on this topic, enjoy.

GOOD OL WIKI
Well I have been voicing my opinion on the Wiki project. I have since found a couple break through s though. The first is I finally found where I will make my contribution. I will add to the background, and talk more about the times the poem was written for the weary blues. The poem is more than just the jazz aspect, and reading over it more and more I am starting to see the meaning from where Poe is coming from. The poem is also more about segregation and the struggle for African Americans and how music was their therapy to take their mind away their safe haven. Finally I'm starting to see this project come together. There was also some citations missing in the Wiki for the poem.

GENDER CRITICISM
Gender criticism is an extension of feminist literary criticism, focusing not just on women but on the construction of gender and sexuality, especially LGBTQ issues, which gives rise to queer theory. Gender criticism labels the writer of the story. An example of the dominating stereotypes would be that if the character is a man is dominating the leader role. Whereas if the character is a female or woman then the character is submissive and a foloower, which is not always true. There are cases where the woman is the dominant figure and the man can be the submissive, there is more of these roles in todays literature compared to the 1900s and earlier. The stories we are reading in class seem to take the old way of thinking.

Symbolizes
An object that symbolizes me everyday would have to be probably one of the most minor things one could think of. Ever since I was 15 years old growing up in Monroe Heights in Riviera Beach, Florida. Me and a group of friends all use to have our own little business well leave it at that. We all also wore rubber bands on our wrist. The reason the rubber band symbolizes is because a couple of us since then have been murdered, the rubber band is like a reminder of each of us. One of the friends who is locked up in Prison for life still wears his also. I'm not saying I condone any of these actions n the past, but no matter what one of us odes we still will be therefor each other. Therefore the rubber band is not any gang symbol, it is instead a symbol of unity, loyalty to one another. I guess I can just drop a couple names here, Elton Doo-Doo Taylor, Aj Oooh Lawd Jenkins, Tarvaris Arson Jackson, and then there's about 10 others. The rubber band will always be a symbol, lol and also holds the money if needed, ok thats enough.

HOUSE OF USHER THEME
Edgar Allen Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher, is a story that is written about a person going to see an old friend, Roderick Usher who is sick with a condition that runs in the family. When he arrives at the house of Usher, the narrator looks upon the walls and senses gloom. For the first few weeks that he is there, he and Roderick read stories, paint, and play guitar, all efforts to cheer Roderick up. But soon Roderick’s sister has died and the mood in the house changes. Roderick decides to put her in a chamber downstairs for a few weeks so that curios doctors cannot steal her body and perform tests on it. One night during a terrible storm, Roderick goes crazy and in an effort to calm him down his friend reads to him. That’s when Roderick confesses that he has heard his sister’s cries from downstairs and believes that he has put her in her coffin while she was still living. The door was thrown open from the wind, and Roderick’s sister was standing at the door, she collapses on Roderick and both die, the friend runs out of the mansion and it collapses and the House of Usher is sunk in the lake.

Wikipedia
We are working on these new Wikipedia pages and trying to add substance to the already created pages in Wikipedia already. I am not really a fan of the new idea using Wikipedia, I rather would have done the normal essays. Although I understand Wikipedia is a great place to learn about whatever subject you are reading about or writing about. I still am not a fan of the whole Wikipedia process this semester. Wikipedia in my opinion makes things too complicated, there is too much clutter on the pages and it is hard to find the information I am looking for. Although I jave no choice but to use Wikipedia this assignment, it is safe to say this would be the first and last time I ever use my Wikipedia login.

Settings
In the last couple stories we read the setting has been set immediately. Most of the settings have involved dark mysterious, gloomy feeling. The setting has definitely not been a good happy feeling vibe. I guess a lot of your writers back in those days were feeling more depressed or had a dark thought of mind. The one example would be the Edgar Allen Poe short stories never did he start with a bright sunny clear day. Instead Poe started with on a dark gloomy night. The setting immediately puts you in the mood of the story you are about to read. I feel like this is an important part of every story to get you in the mood, and will also give you an idea if this is the story you want to read.

The Weary Blues by Langston Hughes
After researching my first choice of "To The Desert" I found there wasn't enough stuff out there for me to start a Wikipedia page. Therefore I had to go search again for a story or poem to leave my mark. I stumbled upon Langston Hughes "The Weary Blues". This was the first poem that linked music to life. This was also the first poem that began to win Langston Hughes various awards on the Harlem Renaissance. This poem has a lot of symbolism within its bars, and also describes a great setting with a constant mood to the theme. Finally I am now read to conquer this assignment Mr. Hammon has assigned us. Another great factor is the Wikipedia page started for this poem is a C grade, meaning there is a lot of room to add stuff and be heard.

Finding GOD
This week we have to write a blog about something we are reading for class. The poem I chose to write my Wikipedia on is called To The Desert. This poem is about a man who is lost in the dark feels like life has nothing to give, then as if everything is finished in his life he finds GOD. GOD gives him new life, instead of darkness, he begins to see life in the light. Finding GOD gives him a new meaning to life, the poem uses alot of figurative language with a lot of metaphors. When you first read thye poem you may think the man is talking about be stranded in the desert; however he is using the desert as a figurative point to describe darkness and emptiness till he finds GOD.

Protagonist in the movie Training Day
The movie I chose to identify the protagonist in was Trainig Day. In Training Day the leading character or protagonist in the movie is the character is Alonzo Harris which is played by Denzel Washington. Alonzo is a veteran detective in the LAPD, who is assigned to train a rookie named Jake Hoyt. However in th movie Jake thinks he is going to be trained to be an honest and courageous police detective, little does he know that Alonzo is the leader of a group full of dirty agents. Alonzo is in debt with the Russian Mafia, so to get the money to pay off his debts, Alonzo goes around robbing the drug dealers and the plugs. While Alonzo is robbing these dealers he is also teaching Jake how to do the same, but Jake doesn't want to be dirty. Alonzo decides it's time to have Jake killed and move on with his life; However Alonzo never expects Jake to turn the tables on him and unite the dealers and gang memebers he has been robbing and bullying for so long. There is not many times where the protagonist of the movie is actually the movie's main villian.

Figurative Language
When we study or hear figurative language, we must first find the definition of what such is, then we can go in depth and also give some good examples of figurative language. Figurative language is found in literature such as poems, stories, or even possibly journals, which are all good examples for the literature aspect. The writer using the figurative language is using writing to appeal to the senses, this is accomplished by giving meaning a word or words specific meaning when comparing two things, or even using unusual constructions of sound. I feel some of the best examples of figurative languages are in music today, especially hip hop instead of looking in the literature lets go to the music. Hip hop is constructed on figurative languages, mainly metaphors and similes. "I'm capable of anything My imagination can gave me wings To fly like doves watching over the streets" is a creative one from Nas. One of the more commercial known poplar ones that could be heard on the radio everyday when he came out was 50 cent with "i love you like a fat kid loves cake. even though i hate 50, i love that line... like a fat kid loves cake". Figurative language has been around for centuries even dating back to the Shakespeare's and the Greek Mythology writings. I could go on and on about more metaphors and similes and the use of figurative language, but I think you got the point you hear this word play being used everyday you turn your TV on, pick up a book, search the internet, or even turn on the radio.

DEALING WITH THE WIKI
I felt like just like the Google + and the Google drive, the Wiki allows everything to be organized. The Wiki also allows everything within the course to be located in one spot. Mr. Hamon makes learning innovative, which keeps students interested and engaged in the class. I would like for Google to even connect their Google drive with the Wiki, this would allow everything for the class at one click. That would be a nice addition. Well this class is over, this is also the last blog. I guess it's on the Eng 3 and starting all over with Google experience in Mr. Hamon's class again. A couple weeks to rest then were back at it.

BLOGGING
This week is the final week of the class, wasn't too bad just missed a couple blogs. Working 80 hours a week and going to school full time has been a mission. I like the aspect of blogging it definitely helps us learn to write better. However the amount of blogs a week was a little much with the responses just a lot to keep up with. I did learn a lot from the other students in the class post though. I am taking ENG 3 next semester with Mr. Hamon again so blogging will be part of my life for another semester. This time I plan to be more prepared than this semester though.

TECHNOLOGY TAKEOVER BIG DATA
We are coming to the end of the semester finally. I really didn't do as well as I wanted to with work full time and school full time this semester. I missed a couple blogs, but at the end of the day I had to stay late at work and was exhausted selling cars, if I don't sell bills don;t get paid lol. This blog is the closest to my career field for my degree as we have had. Big Data is the catchword for data being transmitted. Could you imagine how life would be if there was a limit to data no matter what you were doing? You could be in the hospital (whelp you have exceeded your data, connection shutdown) there goes that patient, the nurse or doctor didn't receive how much of a dose to give the patient. Another example your in the courtroom (data exceeded) too bad I guess that vital piece of evidence cant be sent over, give him life lol. You can see with the way our everyday life depends on data, we have become so dependent, just don't see how the world would operate if we didn't have it.

MISLEADING STATISTICS
This post came very easy to me, because when we wrote our Doc 1. My Doc 1 researched the use of excessive force by police in the United States. The statistics are so misleading in this case, because only cases that are recorded are those the departments decide to report. Therefore how can we take in to consideration any of these facts. There is no effort at all for the department to refuse to report a case that may show excessive force was used that may hinder that department's name. Dr. Sedlack taught me last semester in my Research and Analysis class. This taught me how statistics are only as strong as the sources utilized of which the data was pulled from. A great example is a poll being done by ATT service, and they ask everyone who currently has ATT service instead of also surveying holders of Metro, Sprint, T-Mobile, and any other service that is offered.

MY PERSONAL LEARNING NETWORK
We are coming to the end of the semester, and I have learned more about APA style than I ever wished to know. However I understand the reasoning behind APA, and also understand it is just something we have to learn how to do. I was always more of a ME instead of TEAM player. This contradicted with out first paper, when Mr. Hammon put us in teams, I could never seem to find my partner, or he never really did his part, he was not productive at all. This however has not took anything away from my Peer to Peer Learning network, because I actually have a nice size network in which I do actually get information or advice from. I believe it is very important to have a strong Peer to Peer Network when you are attending college and pursuing a degree. I have Mr. Hammon again next semester for ENG 3, so I hope this time around I am teamed with a stronger partner that does their part.

ROGERIAN ARGUMENT FOR DOC 2
In DOC 2 there was a good example of Rogerian Argument within my paper. I decided to write about the debate of is it better to get your certifications or is it better to get your Bachelor degree when trying to pursue a job in the IT field. My opinion was that a degree is a better tool to get your foot in the door. However I also did argue that this was not the only way to get your start in the IT career field. Certifications are also a great tool to utilize as long as the peson who is responsible for reviewing the resumes is a person that is up to date on the certifications that one shold possess and what that certification say about that individual. A degree is a little easier because the degree will always speak for itself in the business world. The degree is a collection of knowledge over many subjects not just that particular area of a subject such as a certification is. Therefore you can see that the mutual agreement within the paper was that even though I felt a degree is a stronger resource, I also admitted that certifications are also good resources when pursuing a career in the IF field.

PEER EVALUATION ROUND 2
This week we had another student review and critique our Doc 2 papers. I like the idea of being evaluated by someone other than the teacher before we turn the paper in. I feel like another student and a second set of eyes can give me another perspective on the paper. With this paper I was kind of going in many different directions on how to write and organize the paper. There wasn't really a lot of references for the topic, however there was a lot of opinionated journals on the subject of which is better when pursuing a career in IT, degree or certifications. I read various articles and journals and really started to get my vision I was looking for. The evaluates pointed out good grammatical errors within the paper. Another student also pointed out some good points I could use to go more in depth on my paper to give a better understanding on the subject. I am looking forward to more advice and helpful hints in writing this paper.

Degree Over Certification
The ETHOS for my DOC 2 is that there are many ways that a person can get their foot in the door in the IT filed at a company. However I strongly feel that without the degree on your resume, there is a strong chance you might not even make it to the interview stage to tell the people about your certifications and how knowledgeable you may be or how dedicated you may be. The degree will show your drive, will also show how you are able to see a task from the start to finish. The degree shows your dedication no matter at what cost you are willing to go to become sucessfull, and not only gives you knowledge, but also the foundation of the knowledge in that field.

IS IT BETTER TO GET A DEGREE OR CERTIFICATIONS
I already knew I would end up changing my DOC 2 paper, and changing the subject. So with that being said my new topic is the highly debatable is it better when trying to get into the IT field is it better to go for your Bachelors degree or is it better to get a bunch of certifications? This paper can go many different directions, I have always been the own to believe that there is no substitute to a College degree. That is my stance the degree gets you in the door then you have time to go get certified in different areas, such as Microsoft, Primavera, Share Point, and other widely used programs. Well I guess it's back to my paper and starting over from the ethics approach. This paper is turning out to be harder than I thought. The hardest part is this more of an persuasion paper with your opinions, this makes it harder to find references to support your stance.

Ethics In The IT World
DOC 2 here we go!! So on our next document we are writing for class is the evaluation of issues occurring in our future career choice. There are many issues arising in the Computer Science field, especially the IT field. The issue I will take my stance on is the ethical dilemma that is occurring in the IT field. With the access to the internet so easy these days in the corporate world at work, too many employees are utilizing the internet for the wrong reasons while at work. However these same sites they are being criticized for accessing are the same sites that the managers and owners of these corporations are using to base some of their hiring off of. Is this not a catch 22? Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, among st other social media sites. I feel like your off hours outside the job life should not affect your status at work unless they interact with each other. I will go in depth more once I start writing my paper.

GOOD EVIDENCE VS BAD EVIDENCE
When it comes to gathering data or evidence in this case for a paper it is very important to gather your data or evidence from credible resources. Students usually want to finish their paper as fast as possible with the least amount of effort or work possible. The first step they take is usually the Google search, and of course the majority of the time your Wikipedia of the search will pop up. This is the easiest source for the student to use so they go to reading and sriting immediately. Wikipedia can be a starting point to at least get you familiar with the subject then enhance your search and find credible sources. The best source when searching is the Google Scholar search. An example of good evidence or data is reading the articles and evaluating the credentials of the author who wrote the journal or article, usually if the author is credible he has been referenced many times within other articles. Another mistake students make is immediatley referncing or utilizing the data when statistics are given. This is also not a great tool because when statistics are given, we never know if the numbers are biased. There is a chance that the data was derived from a biased source in return relaying the numbers. The only way to really use statistics is when you know where the numbers derived from and what models were used to get these numebrs. The final say of good vs bad evidence is really also in the eyes of the reader, what the reader want to believe and what the reader wants to either disoute or just flat out not believe.

DOC 2 ISSUES IN THE IT FIELD
There are various issues one may face when entering the IT field. This week I am still contemplating on which I will be writing my paper on for document 2. The first issue is dealing with the ethical factor, when is too much security too much or not enough? Companies today want to tighten their network security, but at what cost financially or at what cost production wise? The problem the industry is facing is the social media craze. Employees are constantly going on to social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, among the many others. Employees are opening the networks up making them vulnerable to possible hacking or viruses when they are accessing these unsecured social sites. However these same companies are also using these social sites for advertisement, promotion, and even seeking to fill positions within the company. Another major issue and the issue I believe I will investigate for this next paper is what is the best route to get in the field? Would it be better to get your degree first and then try to get a job at a company or is it better to get your foot in the door and get the on the job training and learn about the business and IT field that way? The issue I see that will always affect he industry is the rapid pace of technology and the different programs in the IT world.

Stereotyping by Appearance
Everyone is guilty of it from one view or another, when we see a person and he or she is dressed a certain way, or look a certain way, we immediately classify that person in a certain group. This may be the case whether we see a person wearing shirts with the rebel flag and jeans most will probably say he is a redneck. Then there is the person who has dreads or gold teeth in his mouth is automatically classified as a thug or a gangster. Finally we see people dressed in all black and wearing vampire lookig clothes we immediately think satan. These are just very few of the many stereotypes out there. I am guilty of the first stereotype, whenever I used to see a person wearing jeans boots, shirts with rebel flags I immediately thought oh this must be a racist redneck, the main reason is this is what I was basically taught growing up in Riviera Beach, Florida where there is no rednecks. However once I went to the military and interacted with different groups of people I found my thinking to be completely wrong. I quicly learned that not all rednecks are racist. I now associate with all kinds of people and learn a lto from being around the different variations of people.

ALL POLICE ARE CORRUPT
This week one of our post in the blog has to be about logical fallacies for our Doc 1. I chose to go with the fallacy that since the media is showing the killings of Michael Brown, Tamar Rice, and Eric Garner, some are assuming that all cops are bad. This is not true just like any other aspect of life, some cops are corrupt and bad while others actually are good and act responsibility on their job. The best way I can describe this fallacy, would be telling about my real life interactions in Riviera Beach, Florida where I was born and raised. In Riviera we have a cop named Culry To they call him, everytime he comes around the block he immediately searches up at the park, and searches for drugs and calling for backup. He first does the normal pat down and then reaches inside your pants actually and then after reaching inside your pants, he makes you open your mouth and seearches with the same hand inside behind your tongue to make sure you wasn't stashing any drugs in your mouth. If Curly Top finds drugs instead of just arresting you he usually takes all your money and drugs and then the next day makes you buy everything back extorting you. This is a everyday event. The fallacy would be since Curly Top does this every other coip in Riviera Beach must be as corrupt as him which is not true. There is a cop named Williams who is always out shooting basketball at the court with us sometimes, hell talk to us and help us out if we need it and is always doing good deeds for the community of Riviera Beach. This just shows that not all cops in Riviera Beach are bad and corrupt.

PEER REVIEW
This week we were assigned to review each others group's papers for Doc 1. I wasn't in class unfortunately so I didn't get to participate. However I have has similar assignments having taken Mr. Hamon class before. The peer review is a great way to write a better paper for many reason. The first reason is who better to have for an audience then your peers, someone who will criticize but in a good way meaning you wont get feedback like this paper sucks, or I don't know what you are writing this paper for, and other abusive constructive criticism. Another great reason for peer review is the help with editing and proofreading your papers. I look forward to next week being in class so I can get the constructive criticism on my paper.

WHAT IS A THESIS
What is a thesis? Whenever we write a paper or read a paper, the first step to always take is t identify what the paper is about or what point or conclusion the author is trying to get across to us. There are often times where the author will unveil the thesis or the main topic of the paper or article we are reading; however there are also some writers who will play keep us in suspense and not really give us the thesis or main topic until the middle of the paper or article, there are even those who leave the thesis to the end of your readings. The thesis is the center foundation of the work, it brings the reader full circle and lets them know the purpose of that paper or article being written. The thesis of my Doc 1 will be are the police getting away with cold murder? I cant wait to read the different teams in the class papers and identify their different thesis, I want to see the different angles which will be taken on the papers, and also see the different views each has on police using excessive force.

CAN TECHNOLOGY SAVE US FROM POLICE BRUTALITY
Technology vs Police Brutality
http://www.cnn.com/2014/11/18/us/police-cell-phone-videos/
The following is an article on CNN that talks about cell phones and other technology being used to fight the police and their over agressive tactics being used. There is a strong question gong around the nation that after the Eric Garner case, does video taping the police have any bearing? I feel like it does to an extent because maybe some cops will adhere to their training and actually respect the rights of a citizen knowing they are being filmed; However after seeing the last couple cases in the media and the cases being tried in front of a jury one still ahs to wonder are the police just untouchable? The Eric Garner case specifically shows the altercation from start to finish, with all those cops around, there is no one that can convince me that they had to choke him out like that. This was all being done while different people was watching making the comments of let him go he cant breathe, also no to mention the recording was also being made by bystanders. There is even an instance where the cops attempt to tell the people to stop filming, and even threaten to apprehend their phones. If you read the report the person who filmed the altercation was actually detained by the police that day. Does this no violate not only are rights as citizens, but now the police even feel they have the right to violate our constitutional rights. I see these types of altercations happening everyday in Riviera Beach in my neighborhood, there is no trust in the police, I'm not saying that the police are wrong in every case, but it seems more and more the police are becoming untouchable no matter who sees whats going on.

No matter media, what training these police have, or what side the person decides to take there is no reason what so ever for this police to hold these teens at gun point for a snowball fight. I guess his response was going to be I was in fear of my life the snowball may have got thrown at me to kill me.

WHO HAS AUTHORITY
This week one of the topics we had a discussion about was WHO HAS AUTHORITY? First what is authority? Authority is defined as the power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience. With this being the definition, I feel personally like everyone has authority in a certain type of way. From a child there is always something you control, whether it is controlling when you eat, what you eat, what you wear, all the way through to the board meetings and being the presenter at the meeting, a teacher teaching class. There is a million ways to show authority. The way I demonstrate authority on a daily basis is with my kids, but also with my job as a car sales consultant. Everyday I am taking control of the sales process, directing the customer to the right car, presenting the features and benefits, and presenting the price. Authority can be gained by anyone, I feel the main ingredient to gaining your authority is confidence. With the right amount of confidence and no fear you can have authority as much as you want.

Police and Justice
The debate I had with a manager at my job a couple days ago was an argument that is going on all over the country, but not only the country but all over the world. The lights have been shined bright on the police ever since social media and smart phones have been invented. I stated to the manager that in all cases the police are not wrong, however in the last two major media cases the police were completely wrong. Every officer that goes through training is made to pass the marksmanship test, meaning shooting targets. When you serve in the Military you are taught to first immobilize your target if possible, also to only point your weapon at someone is you have intent to use it. When Officer Wilson was confronted by Michael why couldn't he have shot him in the knee the shoulder, any shot would have at least immobilized him but he would still be alive. These cops today are starting to use their badge as a way to do what they want. I understand cops put their lives on the line everyday they go to work, however that still gives them no right to commit murder and get away with it.

Blogging in College
Blogging In College
I have never been one to really write anything on the internet, not really into the Instagram, Twitter, and definitely not Facebook. however the blogging in College is a god idea because it allow us to connect among different students. Blogs is also a place that may be utilized to ask questions or seek help with a specific topic. Another great use for blogs is to review different products, movies, or Cd's. I recently used a blog from a college student to learn how to solve some problems in Statistics, it helped to an extent I just SUCK at Statistics lol.
